Credits and Limits
Understand credit use, template cloning, variable AI costs and project locks without relying on stale plan numbers.
Credits cover AI work in AI Website Creator. Project allowances determine how many owned projects your account can open. These are different limits: a task can cost no credits and still affect your project allowance.
At a Glance
| Action or limit | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Clone a template | 0 credits for cloning itself |
| Local background removal | 0 credits for the local operation |
| AI generation and editing | Usage-based costs that depend on the model and operation |
| Project allowance | Depends on your current account entitlement |
| Clone at the project limit | Creates the copy; older projects can become locked |
What AI Work Costs
Text and image AI work is metered from the selected model and actual provider usage. Image size and model can affect the estimate. Do not treat a displayed estimate as a universal fixed price per page or image.
The app can reserve estimated credits before a call and refund the unused difference afterward. A failed call can also use the refund path. The current account balance and the completed operation are more useful than an old screenshot of a cost.
Actions That Do Not Require AI Generation
Cloning a finished template does not spend credits. Editing existing content manually is different from asking an agent or generator to produce new content. Local Remove Background is implemented in the browser and has a zero-credit operation cost; other AI image tools use their own model-based accounting.
Project Limits and Locks
Current plans and account entitlements determine project access. The app marks projects outside the allowance as locked rather than deleting them. The allowance favors newer owned projects, so a downgrade or a new clone can lock an older project.
Check Your Current Entitlement
Use live pricing for published plans and your account's current access for what you can actually do. Plan tables and account-specific licenses can differ, so this reference does not repeat hard project, seat or credit-pool numbers.
MCP and External AI Client Costs
A connected assistant may have its own usage charges or subscription. Those are separate from UiChemy's credits. Do not assume every MCP read or WordPress plugin ability has a UiChemy credit charge. A masked image edit through hosted MCP runs the same code as the editor, costs the same UiChemy credits and needs the plan that AI smart editing needs, so AI work launched through MCP is not automatically free. The operation's actual accounting and your connected client determine the relevant cost.
