Vertical Spacing

Adjust responsive section padding globally or use a spacing multiplier for one section.

Use spacing to make a page feel compact or generous without manually entering padding at every screen width. AI Website Creator separates the site's spacing scale from a selected section's spacing multiplier.

Global Vertical Spacing

Open Spacing

Return to the style guide and expand Spacing.

Set Vertical

Move Vertical to the step you want. The step sets top and bottom padding on the section container, not a margin between arbitrary widgets.

Preview smaller screens

Check tablet and phone preview. The same choice automatically uses smaller padding at narrower widths.
StepAbove 1024 pxAt or below 1024 pxAt or below 768 px
S48 px36 px28 px
M, default80 px60 px40 px
L112 px80 px52 px
XL144 px100 px64 px

These are section padding values for each side. They are not a guarantee of the total visible distance between two pieces of content: headings, images, and template layout gaps also contribute.

Global Horizontal Spacing

Horizontal controls the section container's left and right gutters. It does not change the number of columns or card padding.

StepAbove 1024 pxAt or below 1024 pxAt or below 768 px
XS24 px12 px12 px
S64 px12 px12 px
M, default100 px15 px15 px
L140 px32 px20 px
XL180 px48 px24 px

The template container maximum is 1440 px. There is no container-width control or global card-padding control in this spacing panel.

Vertical Spacing for One Section

Select the section and expand Style. Its Vertical slider scales the global vertical value.

StopWhat it doesWith global M above 1024 px / at or below 768 px

Default, 1xUses the site rhythm80 / 40 px
1.5xAdds breathing room120 / 60 px
2xDoubles the site rhythm160 / 80 px

The default multiplier is 1. Changing the global scale later also changes the effective padding of sections with multipliers. There is no separate mobile-only padding field in this control.

Set the global rhythm first. Use 0.5x for a short announcement and 1.5x for a spacious hero only when those sections need an exception.

What Spacing Does Not Change

The spacing controls do not rewrite text, crop images, change a section's layout, or tune every gap inside a template. Choose a different Layout when the internal arrangement is wrong. Imported designs use the reduced style guide, so the full global spacing panel is not shown there.

Example: A Spacious Hero and Compact Content

Keep a predictable baseline

Set global Vertical to M and Horizontal to M.

Give the hero more air

Select the hero and set its Vertical to 1.5x.

Review the result

Check the phone preview for excessive empty space. Return the section to Default if it no longer needs an exception.
