Page and Site Settings

Set your site's SEO, favicon, social preview images, robots.txt, llms.txt, and custom code, plus per-page slugs, meta titles, indexing, and canonical URLs, before you publish.

Settings is where you get your site ready for search engines, social shares, and browser tabs. Set things once for the whole site in Site Settings, then fine-tune any page in Page Settings. Your settings are applied when you publish or export to WordPress, including UiChemy Sites.

At a Glance

  • Found on Google: clear meta titles, descriptions, and slugs help each page show up well in search results.
  • Looks good when shared: a social preview image makes your links stand out on Facebook, LinkedIn, and more.
  • Ready for AI tools: an llms.txt file lists your pages for ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools.

Use Cases

  • Launch-ready SEO: fill in titles and descriptions for every page before the client sees the live site.
  • Adding tracking: paste the code your analytics or chat tool gives you into Custom code.
  • Keeping a page private: hide a thank-you page from search engines.

Open Settings

In the Design Editor, click the gear icon (Settings) in the top-right corner. A full-screen view opens with Site Settings and Page Settings in the left sidebar. Click Back to return to the canvas.

Opening Settings can start AI SEO prefill. It writes titles and descriptions and selects share images only for empty fields. Those drafts are saved as they arrive. Open Settings when you are ready for that behavior, not merely to inspect a project. You can change the filled fields afterward.

Each card has its own Save button. If you leave with unsaved changes, you'll be asked whether to discard them.

Save Settings

Choose site or page settings

Open Settings and select Site Settings or Page Settings. For page settings, choose the intended page.

Edit one card

Update its fields. AI-prefilled fields can be replaced with your own wording.

Save the card

Click that card's Save button. Saving one card does not mean every other draft card is saved.

Return to the canvas

Use Back. If asked about unsaved changes, keep editing or explicitly discard those drafts.

CardWhat you can set
Website infoProject name, and the site Language. Pages without their own language use this one.
How your site appears onlineMeta title (used for the home page unless it has its own) and Meta description.
Site icons & imagesBrowser icon (Favicon), 64 x 64 pixels, and a Social preview image, 1200 x 630 pixels, shown when your site is shared. Pages can override it.
Search enginesrobots.txt tells search engines which pages to skip. Leave it empty to use the default, which lets them see every page. llms.txt for AI tools lists your pages at /llms.txt with a clean text copy of each page. Pages hidden from search or kept away from AI tools are left out.
Custom codeCode added to every page, in four spots: Start of head, End of head, Start of body, and End of body.

Only use Custom code if a tool gives you code to paste, and don't include <head> or <body> tags. If your robots.txt would hide the whole site, UiChemy warns you: "This hides your whole site from Google and other search engines."

Page Settings

Page info

  • Page name

How this page appears online

  • Slug: the page's address, for example /about-us/. The home page doesn't have one, it lives at /.
  • Meta Title and Meta Description
  • Search engine indexing: turn off Show this page in Google search to keep a page out of search results.
  • Social preview: an image for this page (1200 x 630 pixels). Uses the site's image when empty.

Advanced

  • Canonical URL: the preferred address of this page. Leave empty to use the page's own address.
  • Page language
  • Follow links: let search engines follow links on this page.
  • Keep away from AI tools: blocks AI crawlers (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and others) from this page through robots.txt.
  • More search engine options: don't keep a saved copy in search engines, don't show a text preview in results, keep the page's images out of Google Images, set the Longest text preview (characters), and choose the Image size in search results.

Pages that become templates in WordPress, such as blog or archive pages, show This page is a template on WordPress instead of the SEO fields.
