TroubleshootingCommon Issues

Common Issues

Fixes for the most common UiChemy plugin problems, most of which come down to a single Settings toggle.

Most "it's broken" reports on the plugin side turn out to be a setting that's switched off. Start here before digging deeper.

The Composer Isn't in My Widget Panel

Symptom: You search for Composer in Elementor, Gutenberg, or Bricks and it isn't there.

Each builder has its own switch. Go to UiChemy → Settings → Editor & widgets and check the one for your builder:

  • Enable in Elementor, registers the Composer widget in Elementor's widget panel.
  • Enable in Gutenberg, registers the Composer block in the WordPress block inserter.
  • Enable in Bricks, registers the Composer element in the Bricks builder panel.

Turning one off doesn't affect the others, and doesn't touch Composers already on your pages. See General Settings.

The Code Tab Is Missing, or I Can't Switch Modes

Symptom: The Composer only shows Chat and Editor, with no Code tab and no way to switch.

That's Editor mode, in UiChemy → Settings → Editor & widgets. When it's set to Design, the editor is locked to Chat + Editor and the switch is hidden on purpose.

  • Both, editors can switch between Design and Developer.
  • Design, locks to Chat + Editor.
  • Developer, locks to Chat + Editor + Code.

Set it back to Both to restore the switch. See Design vs Developer Mode.

If you're handing a site to a client, locking to Design is deliberate, it keeps the Code tab out of their hands. Check with whoever set the site up before changing it.

The Editor Won't Open on the Live Page

Symptom: Logged in with edit access, but no UiChemy editor appears on the published page.

Check Show editor on the front end in UiChemy → Settings → Editor & widgets. When off, the front-end editor never loads and editing only happens through the normal admin builder screens.

Form Entries Aren't Appearing

Symptom: Visitors are submitting forms, but Form Submissions stays empty.

Check Store form submissions in UiChemy → Settings → Data. When off, entries aren't saved to the database, so nothing shows up. Entries submitted while it was off aren't recoverable.

My AI Tool Can't Connect

Symptom: Claude, Cursor, Codex, or another MCP client can't reach the site.

Check Enable MCP server in UiChemy → Settings → Integrations. It has to be on for AI clients to connect. If it's on and the connection still fails, see Connect an MCP Client.

White Label Won't Save

Symptom: You fill in your branding, click Save changes, and nothing sticks.

White Label is a UiChemy Pro feature. The page renders in full on the free plan, including an active-looking Save button, but saving is refused server-side. Upgrade to Pro to persist your branding. See White Label Overview.

Role Manager Shows an Upgrade Screen

Symptom: UiChemy → Role Manager shows a "Role Manager Pro" page instead of the role list.

That's expected on the free plan, Role Manager is fully Pro-gated. Role Manager and White Label both carry a crown icon in the sidebar while you're on Free. See Role Manager Overview.

"License Not Active" but Pro Features Work

Symptom: Account & License says License not active, yet everything Pro is working.

That's correct, not a bug. Installing UiChemy Pro is what unlocks the features. A license key adds automatic updates and priority support on top. See License Overview.
