# Common Issues

Fixes for the most common UiChemy plugin problems, grouped by area: editor and settings, Pro features, Theme Builder, forms, and AI connections.

Most "it's broken" reports on the plugin side turn out to be a setting that's switched off, or a Pro feature that isn't active yet. Find your area below and open the issue that matches what you see.

### Editor and Settings

<ExpandableGroup>
  <Expandable title="The Composer isn't in my widget panel" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** You search for Composer in Elementor, Gutenberg, or Bricks and it isn't there.

    Each builder has its own switch. Go to **UiChemy → Settings → Builders** and check the one for your builder:

    - **Elementor**, adds the Composer widget in Elementor's widget panel.
    - **Gutenberg**, adds the Composer block in the WordPress block inserter.
    - **Bricks**, adds the Composer element in the Bricks builder panel.

    Turning one off doesn't affect the others, and doesn't touch Composers already on your pages.
  </Expandable>

  <Expandable title="The Code tab is missing, or I can't switch modes" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** The Composer only shows Chat and Editor, with no Code tab and no way to switch.

    That's **Editor mode**, in **UiChemy → Settings → General**. When it's set to **Design**, the editor is locked to Chat + Editor and the switch is hidden on purpose.

    - **Both**, editors can switch between Design and Developer.
    - **Design**, locks to Chat + Editor.
    - **Developer**, locks to Chat + Editor + Code.

    Set it back to **Both** to restore the switch. If only some users are affected, their role may be set to **Custom** in the Role Manager with only one editing mode turned on, see [Setting User Permissions](/uichemy-plugin/role-manager/user-permissions).

    <Callout kind="tip">
    If you're handing a site to a client, locking to **Design** is deliberate, it keeps the Code tab out of their hands. Check with whoever set the site up before changing it.
    </Callout>
  </Expandable>

  <Expandable title="The editor won't open on the live page" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** Logged in with edit access, but no UiChemy editor appears on the published page.

    Check **Front-end editor** in **UiChemy → Settings → General**. When it's off, the front-end editor never loads and editing only happens through the normal admin builder screens.

    Also check your role in the [Role Manager](/uichemy-plugin/role-manager/overview). A role set to **No Access** can't open the UiChemy editor at all.
  </Expandable>

  <Expandable title="My edits on the live page aren't saved" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** You change something in the front-end editor, leave the page, and the change is gone.

    Check **Front-end save** in **UiChemy → Settings → General**. On **Manual** (the default), changes are held until you press **Save** in the page toolbar. Switch to **Autosave** if you want each change written automatically a moment after you make it.
  </Expandable>

  <Expandable title="The Scroll Timeline button doesn't appear" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** You expect the **Scroll Timeline** button on the live page, but it isn't there.

    Check **Scroll timeline** in **UiChemy → Settings → General**. It's on by default. Even when it's on, the button only appears on pages that actually have a scroll animation. See [Editor Tab](/uichemy-composer/uichemy-widget/editor-tab).
  </Expandable>
</ExpandableGroup>

### Pro Features

<ExpandableGroup>
  <Expandable title="I have Pro, but features still look locked" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** Role Manager and White Label still show a crown, or Pro features show an upgrade screen.

    UiChemy Pro isn't switched on yet. At the bottom of the UiChemy sidebar, click **Activate** (or **Install & Activate**) on the **UiChemy Pro Plugin** card. Once you see **"UiChemy Pro activated"**, the crowns disappear and every Pro feature is ready. See [Activate UiChemy Pro](/uichemy-plugin/activate-pro/activate-uichemy-pro).
  </Expandable>

  <Expandable title="Role Manager shows an upgrade screen" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** **UiChemy → Role Manager** shows a **Role Manager Pro** page instead of the role list.

    That's expected on the free plan, Role Manager is a Pro feature. Click **Upgrade to Pro** on that screen to go to the [UiChemy Pricing](https://uichemy.com/pricing/?utm_source=dashboard&utm_content=role_manager) page and choose a plan. Already have Pro? Turn it on from the **UiChemy Pro Plugin** card. See [Role Manager Overview](/uichemy-plugin/role-manager/overview).
  </Expandable>

  <Expandable title="White Label won't save" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** You fill in your branding, click **Save changes**, and nothing sticks.

    White Label is a **UiChemy Pro** feature. On the free plan the page and **Save changes** button look active, but saving is refused. Upgrade to Pro to save your branding, or, if you already have Pro, turn it on from the **UiChemy Pro Plugin** card. See [White Label Overview](/uichemy-plugin/white-label/overview).
  </Expandable>

  <Expandable title="My White Label branding isn't showing" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** Your branding is saved, but UiChemy's own name and logo still appear.

    Check the **Enable white label** master switch at the top of **UiChemy → White Label**. When it's off, none of your branding is applied, even with every field filled in.
  </Expandable>
</ExpandableGroup>

### Theme Builder

<ExpandableGroup>
  <Expandable title="My template isn't showing on the site" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** You built a header, footer, or other template, but the site still shows the theme's default.

    - Check the **activation toggle** on the template's card in **UiChemy → Theme Builder**. It has to be on.
    - Click **Conditions** on the card and check where it's set to appear. **Include → Entire Website** shows it on every page, and an **Exclude** rule always wins.

    See [Assigning Conditions](/uichemy-plugin/theme-builder/assigning-conditions).
  </Expandable>

  <Expandable title="My header or footer shows twice" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** Two headers or two footers appear on the live page.

    Another theme builder, such as Elementor Pro or Nexter, also has a header or footer active. The Theme Builder shows a warning when this happens. Keep the header and footer active in only one of them. See [Theme Builder Overview](/uichemy-plugin/theme-builder/overview).
  </Expandable>
</ExpandableGroup>

### Forms

<ExpandableGroup>
  <Expandable title="Form entries aren't appearing" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** Visitors are submitting forms, but **Form Submissions** stays empty.

    Check **Store form submissions** in **UiChemy → Settings → Data and privacy**. When it's off, entries aren't saved to the database, so nothing shows up. Entries submitted while it was off can't be recovered.
  </Expandable>

  <Expandable title="I can't find a specific submission" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** You know a submission came in, but it's not easy to spot in the list.

    In **UiChemy → Form Submissions**, use **All / Unread / Read** and the form buttons below the title to narrow the list. To filter by page or date, or search for a value someone typed, open **Export → Open classic list**. See [Viewing and Exporting Submissions](/uichemy-plugin/forms/viewing-exporting).
  </Expandable>
</ExpandableGroup>

### AI Connections

<ExpandableGroup>
  <Expandable title="My AI tool can't connect" default-open="false">
    **Symptom:** Claude, Cursor, Codex, or another MCP client can't reach the site.

    Check **MCP server** in **UiChemy → Settings → Integrations**. It has to be on for AI clients to connect. If it's on and the connection still fails, see [Connect an MCP Client](/ai-to-wordpress/connect-mcp-client).
  </Expandable>
